Company Background
Kong Siang Group Holdings Pte Ltd is a major and established distributor for Diageo PLC in Asia with the head office in Singapore. Since its incorporation as “Chop Kong Siang” in 1937, the group has grown into an established regional player in Asia with expertise in distribution of brands, import and export, warehousing and logistic facilities.
The group has offices in a number of countries in Asia and distribute world-class brands like Johnnie Walker whisky, Smirnoff Vodka, Bailey’s Irish Cream among others.
Our History
Kong Siang Group Holdings Pte Ltd was founded as “Chop Kong Siang” in 1935 with 8 shareholders, and at that time, it was a retail store selling perishable and non-perishable products in Singapore. Subsequently, in the 1950’s, the company ventured into textile and tobacco before focusing back on retailing in Singapore under the helm of Mr. Lee Chuan Siak, the company’s founder.
In the 1960’s, the company started liquor wholesale in Singapore and became the largest wholesaler of liquor in Singapore in 1968. By the 1970’s, the third generation of the Lee family was immersed into the business and subsequently took over the business in the 1980’s and the company expanded the business regionally to Thailand. |

In 1987, the company started export of liquor to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and started distributing exclusively Diageo PLC’s range of products ((then known as Guinness UDV) in those countries from 1996 onwards.
From 2000 to present, the company has expanded the business territorially to Indonesia, East Timor, Malaysia (Duty Free), Thailand (Duty Free), Philippines, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Mongolia and Guam.

Our Business
Kong Siang Group Holdings Pte Ltd is one of the largest third party distributors for Diageo PLC in the world with an extensive distribution network in Asia and is the sole distributor for Diageo’s range of products in Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, East Timor, Philippines, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Guam. We are also the duty free distributors for Diageo PLC in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. The distribution of our range of products is handled by two of our subsidiary companies, namely, Interlocal Exim Pte Ltd and Kong Siang Pte Ltd.
The group is also involved in supplying Diageo’s range of products to the airlines in Asia, supplying to airlines like Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, China Airlines, EVA Air, Garuda Indonesia, and Philippines Airlines among others.
The group carries the broadest and the most recognisable portfolio of premium drinks brands in the world. Our brands include Johnnie Walker, J&B, Tanqueray, Gordon’s Gin, Smirnoff, and Baileys among others and they are the best sellers in our markets. These brands are available in over 180 markets/countries around the world. We also have an extensive selection of malt whiskies such as Royal Lochnagar, Singleton, Talisker, Clynelish, Glen Ord, Glen Elgin, Glenkinchie among others and super premium reserve brands like Ketel One, Ciroc and Tanqueray 10. |
Kong Siang Group Holdings Pte Ltd is also the exclusive distributor for Heineken Far East in Cambodia. Heineken Beer, the world’s leading premium beer, is readily available in 170 different countries. In addition, the group is also the exclusive distributor for Jose Cuervo Tequila in Indonesia.
