It’s the time of the year when we’re all making our new year’s resolutions, aren’t we? Now, let me tell you something scary. By February, 80% of our new year’s resolutions would have already failed.
You know I’m not exaggerating here coz you’ve probably already faced this before. Look back at your last year’s goals. Did you achieve them all?
Let me confess first…I, for one, did not!
One of my last year’s resolutions was to get healthier and to lose some weight. In fact, I had a specific target in mind. I decided to shed 10 kg. Well… I did not achieve that! It’s pretty sad.
But, here’s the thing. I’m not feeling bad about it!
The thing is I haven’t achieved my full target but guess what, I did make progress! I did lose some weight overall. I exercised more than I had done the year before. Overall, I do feel healthier.
And once again, my new year resolution this year is to get fitter, healthier and shed some more weight.
You see, here’s the thing: You may not be achieving 100% of whatever you are setting for yourself today. But if you make progress, however minute that may be, you will start feeling better.
If we improve ourselves 1% every day, we will get better over 37 times by the end of the year !! And that’s just 1% of everyday improvement …
Now, the same applies to running a business.
To look at our own company, our main resolution last year was to put our customers back to the fore. We made it a target to Wow all our customers.
As things eventually unfold, we’ve had some mess ups last year – in some of the projects that we’ve worked on. We took all the failures seriously. We made it a point to improve every time we fell short.
Overall, we made progress. We improved our service delivery.
This year, our main resolution remains the same: getting better at serving our customers. In fact, what we’ll be doing differently this year is ensuring we are interacting with you, our customers and partners, on a more regular basis.
As you probably know, last year we moved to a bigger office. We now have an Experience Centre where you’re welcome to visit us anytime to see some of our innovations.
In fact, later this year, we’ll be moving to an even bigger office. We’re growing. Quite fast. And you can expect to see a bigger and more comprehensive experience center showcasing even more hardware and software innovations for the events industry.
And we want to get closer to you. So, rather than always meeting up on a formal basis, this year we’re going to be organizing even more casual meetups. We started this initiative on a smaller scale last year and called it Beer on Us. Expect more meetups this year. And during each of our meetups expect to see our latest innovations.
In fact, our next resolution for this year is to Go Smart. Yep – that’s right, Go Smart.
This year expect to hear more about Go Smart from us. That’s our tagline for this year. That’s our theme for this year. Expect smart product innovations. Expect our products to work smarter – powered by AI & machine learning. More importantly, expect your events to get smarter! Feel free to get in touch with me if you’d like to know more.
